Les 3 Vallées
Three valleys, eight resorts. Three Valleys accommodates eight internationally
famous resorts. In reality, there are more than that spread out through
each of the valleys that form part of the area. First, the Saint-Bon valley.
This was the first to be equipped for winter sports. It’s also the
one that has the greatest number of resorts linked by lifts and runs:
four in all, from 1300 to 1850. This is Courchevel. The second, and its
neighbour, is the Allues valley. It has two resorts forming the heart
of the Three Valleys, Méribel and Méribel-Mottaret located
respectively at 1500 and 1700 metres. And then there is the Belleville
valley, the biggest in the area which accommodates three ski resorts:
Saint Martin de Belleville (1400 m), Les Ménuires (1850 m), and
Val Thorens (2300 m), reckoned to be the highest resort in Europe. In
this valley alone, it takes more than a day to discover all the skiing
opportunities… So, just think what Three Valleys can offer. Three
Valleys accommodates eight ski resorts in all, linked to each other by
a network of chair lifts and runs that is unique in the world. To these
should be added the resorts and villages at the bottom of the valley:
Brides-les-bains (600 metres), a hot spa resort linked to Méribel
and Orelle (900 metres) in the Maurienne valley which has allowed the
southern slope to be equipped, giving access to a new Three Valleys summit:
la Pointe du Bouchet (3400 m).
